No wonder you could not find your escapee in the dark. They are dark in color. You would think they would be lighter to hide in sandy climates. I would image they would not have too many predators due to the pincher's and stinger. They appear large to me. Enjoy your little pets.

Wow! Nice shots, cool pets. They look really menacing. May I ask how large the female is( in length)and how large they can get?

The large female is about 4 to 5 inches in length. That's about the max size they get, in captivity. Scorpions don't usually shed in captivity, I don't know why. In the wild, I don't know what the max size is.
