Hi JT,

I would rate the top photo 10/10 with lotsa gold stars.:|. An absolute classic, up there with the best.

On a more slobby playing with the dogs note A) how does the comp work. Why are the dogs owners ducking as their dogs fly by? B) Can you reassure us that no animals were hurt during the taking of these pix? Some of those dogs look in very weird positions indeed.:OI'm sure they weren't, but a reassurance would be nice.

Thanks for some lovely pix, and sooooo interesting too.

Canna.

These competitions, like this one and the obstacle course, are for canine athletes. If you get cable, Animal Planet sometimes shows them.

I am in awe at the stop action here. Really nice series.

Thanks for the nice comments on the photos, to answer your questions

Canna: A) The events have several different parts which are scored this may help you understand better than I can explain personally I like the Free Style Event,

The COMPETITION GUIDELINES:
http://www.ufoworldcup.org/Guidelines.html

The Rules: http://www.usddn.com/rules.htm

The owners aren't ducking in some cases the dogs are using the backs, legs, knees or chest to take off to catch the discs hi in the air.

B) I have to assure you that as unreal as it seems they always land on their feet (like a cat) and unharmed and ready to do it again.

Suzan: I believe just last month they showed the Would Championships, if you did you may remember this guy and his dog in the event.

I have links toseveral other photos from these events if you'd like to see them here http://www.jtgraphics.net/event_list.htm

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for all the links.Ilooked at several things - yet another world that I knew nothing about...

The rest of the dogs (on your site), look fantastically athletic too - and very happy doing their frisbee thing, as do their owners, and the audience - it seems a very jolly hobby.

Great pix.Canna.

Suzan,

No cable, (no TV!) but thanks for the suggestion.

Canna
