There's a huge ostrich farm about 2 hours away from my house. I stopped by on my way to Nogales. Anyway, this is my favorite shot out of them all, if you would have been there you would realize how miraculous this shot is. Those huge things can't stop moving, the fact that I got my camera to auto focus on it is one thing, and that I could get a shot if it pointed straight at me is even more amazing. Enjoy...

LOL...ostrich photos always make me giggle. I have a similar photo somewhere of a winking ostrich that I took at a zoo quite a few years ago. On long trips with my kids in the car, I remember the kids getting a little restless as kids do on long trips. I showed them the picture of the ostrich and told them to keep a lookout as it was a picture of an ostrich that a farmer had lost and was desperately looking to get him back! Well, LOL....it kept the kids busy for quite awhile! They're older now and they still remember that....it makes us laugh when we speak of it so ostrich's hold a true fondness in our hearts!! :-) Thanks for the memory recall!!!

Well done - especially considering the difficult shooting circumstances you mentioned. This one looks like a baby . . . is it? (maybe not - I'm certainly no ostrich expert!!!!)

I'm not sure if it's a baby or not. I don't think so though because it was the same size as the rest.Vicious animals though, baby or not!
