The small snakes I feed frozen. Maggie usually 9 times out of 10 will get a live rabbit. She's been fed live her whole life. I'm always there to make sure nothing happens.

I HATE handling unthawed rabbits. I've got a rabbit pen set up so keeping a live one for a couple of days isn't a big problem.

She CAN handle a 4 pound rabbit, but it is difficult. 3 pounds is perfect for her.

And honestly, those rabbits don't have a chance. My Boa is a so damned fast that the rabbits have no idea what hit them. Before they know it they're being constricted. I know people freak out when they hear I feed her live but I don't care.

She's done it for years and she'll continue to do so.

Yeah well at the end of the day if she was in the wild she would feed on live anyways..also live are much more better for them they are alot fresher...as some of the food you buy frozen has been in the freezer for months so lose all the goodness.

I feed my monitors live mice, rats every now and then as its nice for them to take live

And that's just it. I want a healthy boa, and I know that live is much better than frozen. And yeah, no one in the jungle is prekilling their prey.

However, in the jungle Maggie wouldn't have her wonderful disposition either. I hear wild boas are a really nasty animal.
