I haven't been on this forum since I bought my Nikon Coolpix 995...but today I received my new D70 and thought I'd return and post the "first light" through the lens.

Unfortunately I was stuck inside working today when the UPS man came, so had to find the most convenient target and Sneaky Pete the cat complied by staring out the window! This is straight out the camera on automatic, so I'm sure it can be improved upon. I liked the reflection (which I have to honestly say was an accident).

Welcome back to the forums.

This photo is a wonderful animal portrait. I am in awe. Looks like you got a handle on that D70 really fast. Very nice composition and intended or not the reflection is super.

Thanks for the compliments...I shot probably 500 or more pictures this past weekend at a horse show...now I just have to sort through them and see what I have so I can post some more!

It's a great shot! Why would you want to change it? The reflection is just enough and the cat is very interested in what he is looking at. I think too often people are more interesten in altering thier shots rather than leave them natural. Don't change a thing for me!

I wouldn't want to change it in any material way...it just needs a little color correction maybe. Thanks again for the compliments!

This is a lovely pic.For me, Ithink the existing colours suit the contemplative mood. I would be very interested though to see another version, if you've done one, because comparisons are always helpful.

Best wishes,
