Hey Julies, So sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our beloved Rebel, back in August, I was devistated. I couldn't function for a week and was numb for a month. Vowed not to ever have my heart broken like that again and to never get a dog, but guess what? We're going to take a look at some Lab/Sheppard puppies tomorrow. Although Chopper will never be replaced, there's always room in your heart for another dog that will brighten your days.

Here's a pic of my Rebel with Katama from last year. This was our Holiday Greeting card for last year. Kinda like the "Lamb Lies down with With the Lion" It was titiled "NAMASTE"

rebel was a beautiful doggie. you have to get¬* another pup, while rebel can't be replaced i find that being able to welcome and love another pet is a tribute to your past relationship as well as a great way to help you heal.¬* we have 3 other dogs, so i don't think we'll be getting another anytime soon, they are helping me through though, just taking each day as it comes....thank you, and best regards- julie

Well Julies, "Say hello to my little friend"!!!

We just brought this little guy home from an Adoption/Rescue house out in Blairstown NJ called Aunt Mary's Dog House. What a special woman. I saw these Lab/Sheppard mix puppies on-line at Petfinder.com and the woman called me on New Years day to let me know she still had 4 puppies left. So we crusie over this morning and came home with this little guy, well for now!!:-)

Say hello to Chappy, short for Chappaquiddick.

I have a hard time reading this, let alone posting, but someone sent this to me when we lost our huskie in June and I thought I'd just pass it on...

HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

I also understand what your going through and feeling at this time, i have lost 2 of my best friends in the past 5 months, one through old age and the other through sickness and that has left me feeling empty, guilty and very lonely. Your doing the right thing, talking about it to other people no matter how hard sometimes. They say time will heal, i dont think it does it just gets a little easier and the lump in your throat when you think about them isnt as hard to swallow. My sympathies. www.k9imageworld.comwww.bevbarkerphotos.com.
