I was playing around tonite, and would love some honest, constructive thoughts on these pics... keeping in mind that I was just using what I had...an old comforter and no lighting except from the yuck lighting from our cieling fan!!

What do you think of the comforter I used? Does it add to the pic or is it too distracting? Color? Exposure? His poses?

The only "retouching" I did was a few different crops, some sharpening, and resizing.

This one is uncropped...

And finally, a vertical shot. Are these all too dark looking?

these are some cute shots. I dont think the choice of comforter color is doing you any favors though. You need something simpler and something that will contrast with your subject

Cool...thanks for the input. I do need to get some better "backgrounds" to use. The only other comforter/blanket I have right now is a dark burgundy, which might work well... I'll have to drag it out of the closet & see!! :-)

No Problem. Hes a cute pup. You also mught want to lay the backing/comforter over something hard like a table instead of the couch so he doesnt sink in so you can see all of him (although getting him to lay there may be an issue. Or getting him to stop laying there might be more of an issue once your done with the photos.) Also try to shoot eye level. The first shot you are looking down to much, not very portrait like. The others are better in that regard.
