This is just the front gates of Beaumaris castle, its not a very big castle compaired to some, but a great castle just the same,it was built in 1295 by King Edward 1st, this is the ultimate concentric castle built with an almost geometric symmetry.Anglesey north wales.

I always thinkwinter photosof historical sites such as this one havesome sort ofspecial appeal
 Fascinating, indeed, still retaining its moat orwater filled ditch!!
