Added some lens blur to give it a "shift tilt" look.

It has a unreal look to it like a toy city, is that what you were going towards? Or is that a model city?

I took this photo with the intent of making it look like a model city. Usually this type of shot is done with a "shift tilt" lens (approx $1400cad) or the same affect can be done by selecting fore and background and adding "lens blur" in PS.
Here is the original shot. |

I like your idea with the first post. Gives it an almost 3D/viewmaster-typelook to me.

Here is another that I took last year during a speed skate training session. I applied the same affects to it.

That's a very cool trick, going to have to give it a go one day. Thanks for the information on how it was done.

That is a cool effect, spy. My first thought was a model railroad or similar. I'm gonna have to give that a try also.

If you can get your hands on the latest "Digital Photographer" magazine, Issue 65, within is an interesting article on "Tilt and Shift Lenses - In-depth look at how to use this kit".
