Some shots taken of 'Carrickfergus castle' this first group

are taken from the outside. Lighting could be better on some.

Interesting mix of brick and stone.

A lower entrance no way in here

Great set of pictures. Number 4 is my favourite

Did The Dubliners/Pogues/Chieftains/? record something like: "I wish I was in Carrickfergus" or am I mixing something

Thanks for your comments. I'm not familiar with folk music

but on checking the web, I think all the names you mentioned

plus a quite a few more, including Van Morrison and Bob Marley

have sang songs with 'Carrickfergus' in the tittle, 'Carrickfergus'

Charlotte Church in Carrickfergus

is steeped in the local history of Ireland..........musket

C a r r i c k f e r g u s

and

... (writing, writing; scratch, scratch)

T h e P i r a t e B a y (where ever that is located)

So, done

Another place you should add to your notebook

is 'Montego bay' the place where all the Pirelli Calendars

are shot ........

Talking about seasons. Last winter I had a plan to show pictures of the Skansen Crown at night, but an ingrowing toenail made it virtually impossible. Now that the hardship is over I might take up the thread, in a daylight version

You can take it as a promise or a menace. The choice is free, as Sartre points out. Excuse the dry, gallows humour :-)

:-) As a graduate in phonetics, well, anyhow: The Ö is different from the O. I can explain, you can do the sound too. Two training methods

Start with O as in DO. Form your lips like a hideous chimpansee, but rounded. Put your tongue towards the lower lip against the lower row of teeth. Then say it a thousand times

Start with a vowel like the one in SIR. Then exaggerate the movements of the lips and the tongue. There you are. Fine:-)

Don't worry. Hasta la vista. I'll be back

BTW The GÖTA RIVER is unique in that it has chosen to locate itself in the middle of the town
