This is a tribute to Mothers everyone who have lost children to war. It's a moving piece, and I wish I could have captured it better.

I really found the first image most affecting! I wouldtake my time to shoot it more if it were nearby. Ah, after having children especially, I can't even bear watchingscenes in films at which humans pierce other humans' bodieswith all these stupid bullets and etc.!!

Ah,for architectural shots especially, I'd suggest using spot metering or at least central metering to do justice to the subject matter and to avoid bown areas also, metering on the highlighted parts and then recomposing the view in the frame, as you may know.

No, all the technical details of photography are still new to me. I am pretty-much a point-and-shoot gal just learning to go beyond that limitation. I will work on the chapel as my learning project, and especially the weeping Mother statue, which has always drawn me to it, for many reasons. I"m glad it draws you too, even tho it is sad.

Yesterday when I took these the wind was whipping and biting into me, and I must admit it made me hurry thru. I took many more, but was disappointed at my wide angle shots - the bell tower leans in toward the chapel, so I didn't post them.

Keep watching though, and see Ms Puck learn!

Thanks Donna - I'm still waiting for my new camera - as soon as it comes I'm going back and try again.

So busy this season - as I know you are. Can't wait to see more of your photos after the holidays are over.

I like your stained glass shot!

Thanks cmoy! The windows in the church are all beautiful - very dark and deep colors. I just today purchased a monopod (with 3 little tripod feet) that I'm hoping to be able to sneak into the church when no one is there (tripods arent allowed) and get a few more shots.
