Chrysler Building

It's still raining in NYC so my shooting photos is again confined indoors. Undeterred by the rain, I walk inside the Chrysler Building on 42nd and Lex take pictures there.

I've heard it all too often that the Chrysler Building is the more attractive building compared to Empire State Building. According to destination360.com, "In a recent survey conducted by New York’s Skyscraper Museum, the Chrysler Building was chosen as the overwhelming favorite building among New Yorkers who work in the building and design industry." (http://www.destination360.com/north-...ysler-building)

I hope these pictures give you some idea why.

#3. Lobby Ceiling. I put my camera on the floor lying face up to take this shot.

#6. New York's most famous Art Deco building sandwiched between two other Art Deco buildings. I took this picture last week.

Thank you for looking! C&C welcome.

Very nice VV, it is a beautiful building. And I have to agree that it is way nicer then the empire state building. But I am torn between the chrysler and the woolworth building as the most beautiful skyscraper in NYC. You can no longer visit the woolworth building if you do not work there or have an appointment. But the oldest and a classic is the flatiron building on 23 and 5th/bway.

All of them are nice. #5 has that special interest to it. Standing in a warm glowing building and looking through the doors and seeing people standing out in the cold with there coats on. Great HDR work...

These are very interesting vv - love the light and the amazing walls and ceiling! It's a really beautiful building, thank you very much for sharing those shots!

Man, I can't wait to get there and fill my memory cards with thousands of shots from this stunning city... :D

It's my dream since my uncle travelled the US from east to west in 1995 to go there myself... now I can afford it ;)

It is a very stunning city, but also a burn out city. I can not wait to move back to Germany for good in 2 years. I am actually a native of NYC. And it has gotten to me the fast pace of the city. ;)

Thank you all, for your encouraging comments!

Ancientritual, it was a handheld, three-bracket shot so I didn't know how it would come out in HDR. I'm glad you liked it.

maggo85, most of the pictures I've taken are around the 42nd Street strip. There is still downtown and further up midtown so lots of photo opportunities.

shoturtle, I see quite a lot of newly-built skscrapers with odd shapes mostly of glass and steel. I get the feeling they're mostly ignored by tourists and locals alike because it's still the old buildings that give NYC her character.

Lol! I was hoping you'd be more forgiving and pretend you didnt see that :). It does look like an alien from outer space with a weird helmet.

I actually picked that one over the one below because I thought without the crowd it won't look like NYC.
