Thanks for posting that photo. That is the longest Howe Truss covered bridge I have seen.... there could be others but 270' is very long for a covered bridge. The horizontal side planking is also somewhat unusual.It got me to thinking about another long covered bridge near where I used to live 35 years ago so I looked it up. It crosses the West River in W. Thanks to both of you. The shots of the 280 ft. bridge were great. The cover down here is more for rain protection than snow therfore the open top of the side and the clapboard siding.
