Covered Bridge

The old covered bridge at our local park. I have had this lens a few weeks now and love it more each time I use it!!!!

Congrats on your new lens, Bob. I had the Tokina 12-24 but sold it to get the Canon 10-22 for the wider reach. However, the Tokina was very nice. Good shot of the covered bridge.

Nice pic Bob. The more I see your images with your new lens, the more I want one.
Tokina produces fine glass. As I mentioned before, I still use a 28-70 AT-X Pro 2.6 I have had since 97.

Yes, it shows on your images. Those covered bridges - i have never seen one. What's the purpose? Where are they most common?

Thank you shadokachr and Torgny! Early bridges were often made of wood, especially where it was a plentiful resource. Wooden bridges tended to deteriorate rapidly from exposure to the elements, having a useful lifespan of only nine years. Covering them protected their structural members, thus extending their life to 80 years or more. Covered bridges were also constructed to be used by travelers during storms and inclement weather.

Wonderful shot of the ol' Covered Bridge Bob. I guess I am going to have to try my Sigma 10-20mm on our local covered bridge.

Yes, I got there at sunrise and waited about an hour till the light was just right. I love this lens, it never leaves my D 50.
