Interesting use of brick during building. Nice factory building, Frank

Nice shot, Torgny...!
![]() That's a terrible way to design a roof though... Makes all the water run into a gully and probably cause internal leaks into the building... ![]() |

When I was a kid of 5 or 6 years, I would eat icicles. Can't remember why, maybe because I could. Agree with wizzard0003 about the shape of the roof. Nice pic.

Thank you all,
for viewing and commenting. The Säve River made the industrial community possible. The roofs may look strange with all the snow. In fact they built it that way to let in light. The rain water... Well you can see at this crop from another season. Makes sense, I think. Next time I'll look for ladders on the other side. It must have been possible to get up there to get rid of the snow in the winter There are people around who know much about old factory buildings. Still today the "jagged" roofline appear as a symbol for "Factory" //T

It was a lovely day. The Sun shone through at times. Large parts of the buildings had a thick ice coating. Since I hopefully have got you "on the hook" I'll continue

Now that you've shown the reverse angle on that roof it makes more sense to
me... Bringing in the light would be more important looking at it from that point of view... I really like the details of the brickwork and the ice in the last two shots... Very good images...! ![]() |

Jagged roofs work for light and ventilation.
Important back in the day before electricity. Edit: I notice Torgney has managed to get some golden light in each windowpane, which is a common theme in his architectural work. Makes me wish I could turn around and see what that light reveals behind the camera. Last edited by The Barbarian; Dec 24, 2010 at 12:00 PM. |
