The others can be hard to reach now and then. There is a philosophical view upon the subject on the self and other minds. It claims that the only thing we can know anything about is the contentent of our own minds. Nothing more All the rest are (perhaps necessary) illusions. The view is called solipsism(us). Opposite thinking could be represented by G. E. Moore with his defence of common sense Common sense says this is unproblematic. Kant would have said that the existence of other minds must be (at least) a practical postulate Still we are alone in the universe, with our choices, apprehensions, with a total freedom of choice and thereby responsability for the living Bahadir, just some thoughts evoked by your series Torgny |

Torgny, I'm happy to have evoked these worthy thoughtsyou have kindlyshared with us :!:
The man in the balconylooks atthe'other' in the streetwhile the man in the streetlooks at the 'other' in the balcony as two genuine 'self's:-)...which bringsa possibleconclusion of 'illusion' you speak of. Eh, in my case, because they were real mannequins,Imust have beenscrutinizing the 'others'for 'everyone else'... :? |
