Hi Torgny, this is a cool photograph. Is it really an old prison, interesting concept! Frank

The very thing in which to lock up an unruly Hobbit! Very well done.

Like the picture...curious as to the history of this prison.

Good evening,

hobbits and others. In due time I'll reveal the secret but first I'll post some more pictures. Those pictures may or may not contribute to the solution. The contestant that first comes up with the correct answer will be richly awarded with an universal quotation from J.R.R. himself

So, It's not a prison. Then; what is it? Don't hurry. I won't abandon you

Picture number two (with or without a clue)

Ah, I begin to have a glimmer.

First, Torgny, let me say that these are really nice shots. I like the lighting/shadows in both of them.

Aside from a hobbit hole, I thought of several things ranging from a cold-storage area to a stable or some church-related structure to a mausoleum.

Seeing the pump in the second shot, though, I am going to guess that it's some type of way station.
