Hi aladyforty,

It is soooo nice to learn about other places and the ways that other people live/lived. Thank you for the pix, and also for the info. Fascinating.

Very nice shots of a cool site! The house design reminds me of some designs in Hurricane prone islands. The homes are actually partitioned off into several separate buildings (so if one is destroyed, the others will still remain).

thanks for the comments, I still cant believe families lived there. Our coastal conditions in winter are very harsh, we are the most southern point in western Austrlalia and the weather coming up from the southern ocean is harsh.

Hi aladyforty,

Just a quick add to say I love the sea colours and the froth on the waves - it really LOOKS like the edge of a big ocean, not just a local patch of seawater. Also really liked the rest of the pix in this series- in the 'landscape' pix.Everything looks wonderfully remote...

And Kalypso,

Very very interesting to hear about building design in these weather-beaten places...
