Its a shame all we can see is the wagon wheel window. The building looks interesting in design and decoration.

It's called a "Rosette" in the neo gothic language. Despite the title and the forum, the foliage is the main object here. Essentially I want all religious buildings on the planet to disappear in foliage This church is situated a little awkwardly so it really is not easy to get a picture of the whole building, but I'll have it in mind when I'm out there or when I'm going through The Churches and Mosques subfolder under the Architecture folder Thank you, Bynx Torgny Last edited by Torgny; Oct 4, 2009 at 5:42 AM. |

Bynx,
I have full respect for the interest in church buildings. This is the best I can do to show more of Oscar Fredrik's Church. I will also post some pictures of detail //T Last edited by Torgny; Oct 4, 2009 at 4:09 PM. |

Details. Scattered around the church are these "figurines", spewing all over

(Unfortunately) handheld high ISO night exposure of one of the less prominent entrances. Postprocessed

For simple brickwork, the pattern is really eye catching. Is this type of striped design common or unique to this building?

I haven't seen anything like it in this town. Hard burnt bricks. I share your fascination for brick buildings, as many do. Here is a detail from the same church, with the striped design There are many churches around where I live. This one, Oscar Fredrik Church. has a very strange position in the cityscape. There is another church, Masth****kyrkan, with a very prominent poxition, serving as a landmark for sailors when entering the harbour That style is called "National Romantic". Here still the Neo Gothic style //T |
