Im curious how you get so much detail and with so little noise. The only thing I would change is straightening up the building with perspective. If you lop of the sky you will be chopping off the top of the tree. I can just make out a few stars in the sky. Too bad you couldnt pick them up a lot clearer. One last thing. I wonder why that shadow running right down from the light post to the camera. That bright light is on the black post isnt it?

The dark shadows from the post are due to the metal bars holding the glass panes of the lamp. I took a few more last night and picked up the stars. As far as noise and detail, I can't take any credit, it was all the D-90 and the Tokina 11-16

I like both shots. But particularly the first one. Quite a range of light source there. And that shadow on the garage door with a self portrait is a nice touch. Unintentional Im betting, but I like it.

Thanks Bynx! Your right about the self portrait, I had no idea that was happening.

Those 3 last one's are an interesting series, Bob!
The lamp itself is a motive enough with the sky as background. Nice mixed light-sources and white-balance there and you got it right! The middle one is special as the stars on the sky are great and yourself on the garage-door together with some trees - just like one of those early Japanese cut-out pictures. Great! Also the last one is a tribute to your Tokina! I can see that your lawn is still green....! Thank you for sharing! ... |

I see that too your shadow it follows so much ya know I am always looking before snapping to make sure its is never in my way of a perfect shot by my thinking but of course we get busy and find that pan was right its always there and best to have one at times. I like it thought cause of the stars in the night view..
