I'm very glad that you both filtered the soul and beauty of the lives lived there once. To be able to reflect that by a photograph, is I think more important than taking a technically perfect photo with no story behind.

I'd be delighted to see a few more from Ayvalık, ah, full of stoy and history : ) Now, surely, it is the passion which precedes and technique that will follow...Yet, if we take the matter in terms of duality as such, things will often end up in a vicious circle like that of the 'signifier' and 'signified'...

They all seemed to like old idyllic houses, the older, the better

That's true that the architects are tend to like old yet beautiful buildings. Those buildings are generally are not the products of mass production and the clues of the craftsmanship are readable on, which makes every building a unique piece.

That's a true approach to the buildings in means of pride. Also there was much more social life between the neighbors then.

On the other hand these buildings were not only good for people but for pets as well. Oh, pets are still happy being there though they seem more timid now.
