This stone church is part of a Catholic school in San Mateo, CA. It stands out because its architecture has nothing to do with the surrounding area.

Thanks musket and Bob for commenting. Since you liked that door so much, Bob, here's another one for you.

Tullio,
At first glance the red door of 3rd shot looks impressive, but when I saw the tones in the grasses in left corner and red flowers in right corner it looks like that the image is a little bit over saturated in post processing. So I doubt about the color of the door, it may more likely be like the the door in last image. I loved the tranquillizing effect of shot#2, especially the autumn leaves and the smooth grass surface. A good composition and timing. emre. |

Thanks, emre and Bahadir for your comments.
Emre, your observations were correct regarding the color saturation on pic #3. However, the door does have a red'ish tone to it. The last image is a bit too dark and does not show how red the door really is. Here's another version of pic#3 w/o the saturation adjustment. Bahadir, thanks for your kind words. Yes, the D40 default color over saturates everything so I changed the settings to Adobe RGB (mode ii). It produces much more natural images. |
