I took this shortly after sunrise this morning, there are some really unsightly houses to the left
of the church and light poles to the right which made for the tight crop. I never could have taken this shot if it wasn't for my Tokina 11-16. Bob Last edited by bhammitt; Jun 4, 2010 at 9:29 PM. |

Brilliant work of composition, sounds like your lens did you a good job.

I like the way the sunlight glows on the stone. Very nice. I assume some perspective adjustment was necessary with such a wide shot, but if so, it was done masterfully.

Nice shot and another example of why getting up early is worth it for the good light.

Perfetly lit, exposed and framed church, Bob. You have really done well here. Did you leave extra space on all 4 sides of the building - when shooting - to be able to correct for distortion? Do you have any advice to give on that matter?
Well done - perfect take, Bob! :-) |

Thank you all! Walter, here is the original untouched except for resizing. I use the perspective correction tool in Corel Paint Shop pro, no advice really, I just fiddle around till I have everything as it should be.

I can never appreciate the work until I can see what started it all. Good job.

Well, Bob - I can see now that you left plenty of headroom all around the building, no doubt a foresight to be able to 'pull' that church into its right shape with perspective control later.
That's what I was really after in my question about advice. |
