I took pictures at around noon today in NYC.
#1) GE Building at Rockefeller Center. I never thought this shot was possible. At max 18mm of my zoom, I captured the whole building. I think because scaffolding on the sidewalk where I took this from was finally removed and gave me a clear shot. ![]() #2) Grand Central Terminal and Metlife Building. ![]() Thank you for looking. C&C welcome. |

Nicely frame on the GE building.
The old pam am building and grand central station is a nice view form park ave. I still refer to the metlife as pam am.

Thanks, shoturtle. Yes I remember when I was very young and not yet living in the U.S. I see the Pan Am logo everywhere. Relatives in the US sent postcards of it. I think we even had a bag with its logo.
When they changed the building’s logo from Pan Am to MetLife in 1992, I remember wishing they didn’t. It’s such an American landmark. It was also a big part of my childhood fascination with America along with Disneyland which, come to think of it, persists to this day. |

Great series, as usual, VV. I feel I'm getting to know NYC a better than I did before. I've only been there once, and to be honest, I didn't care for it too much. Of course, I had no idea where to go or what I was looking at when I did. Empire State Building being the exception.

You have captured a lot of building in both those images!

Both are great, but #1 especially stands out.

Thank you, all.
#3) The Atlas statue at Rockefeller on Fifth Avenue. This pic was taken on the same day. ![]() #4) Sometimes, Saint Patrick's Cathedral leaves its main doors open. You can see that the Atlas Statue lines up perfectly through the door. Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job shooting it. I think I needed a tripod and no crowd which is impossible. ![]() |
