I like the low perspective of the interior shot down the aisle, except for the distortion caused by the lense.
Hope you don't mind but... I did a bit of adjusting in CS3 (Filter/Distortion/Lens Correction). IMO it helps. |

VV,
Very nice jobs on churches in midtown. Great contrast between the high rises and the shorter churches. They are in the same situation as St. Paul next to WTC, it was so over shadow by the colossus twin towers at the time, and will again when they finish up the new tower.

Your interior-shot of the Church of the Incarnation in # 18 is stylish and perspectively very interesting, giving us a very good look at the churche's roof!
Well done, vvcarpio! ![]() |

Thanks a lot, Walter C, shoturtle, Walter S, and Hards80!
Walter C, I didn't notice the bulging center until you fixed it. Thanks! shoturtle, yes I remember St. Paul's in downtown. It's so small sitting beside the twin towers then that I often mistook it for a subway station or a public restroom ![]() |

#20. St. Thomas Episcopal Church on 53rd St. and 5th Ave. was completed in 1914 (source: wikipedia.org). It stands between two tall buildings today.

Some more pics from the interior of St. Bartholomew's Church on Park Avenue.
#26. Just so you don't get confused which church it is, I'm including this external shot of St. Bartholomew's Church on Park Avenue. ![]() #27. Nave of St. Bartholomew's Church. ![]() #28. Archways inside St. Bartholomew's Church. ![]() #29. Is this the "rosette" that Bynx is referring to? ![]() #30. Glass art windows of St. Bartholomew's Church. ![]() #31. Bookstore at St. Bartholomew's Church's vestibule. ![]() #32. Small "office" at the vestibule. ![]() I asked the woman behind the desk (only partly visible) if it was OK to take pictures. Even before I asked my question after I said hi to get her attention, she already beamed me a very nice smile. (You have to remember this is New York -- people don't ordinarily smile like that.) When I asked my question she said, "Yes, thank you for asking!" Needless to say, I felt so elated. I'll try to remember that -- that sometimes a smile does wonders. |

Thanks a lot, Hards80. I went back to St. Thomas Church today -- this time with my gorillapod -- then moved closer to take a picture of the altar.
