...Such a lovely place, such a lovely face...
The name of this hotel isn't California but Evropa (Europe). It's in Sarajevo, and like the hundreds of other beautiful buildings, was destroyed at the beginning of 1992-1995 war. Look at the ice spikes. Never saw something similar, eh? ![]() Comments are welcome, of course ![]() |

Curses! You have forced me to find my Eagles CD!
The ice is a good capture; gives the building a somewhat sinister appeal. |

Agree, the place looks like something out of a grade B Frankenstein horror film.
Wonderful work Aloha |

Just as a bit of trivia - in case some folks don't realize the song "Hotel California" by the Eagles was about the first Satanic church which opened In California in 1969.
I guess this pict could definitely be representative of such a sinister place! |

Hi csd!!
I was always under the impression that the song was referring to the recording studio the Eagles used. I've never heard the explanation you've given before. Although if you listen to the words, it does make alot of sense. Chris |

Ice spikes to me are not sinister...but rather...
hint at a roof (unseen) that is not intact. The juxtaposition of the masons' craft which remains on the walls and the imminent demise of the building by the forces of water percolating thru brings pause. |
