Last week, I had a pleasurable talk with the principle of this century oldLyce or high school and inevitably!! shot some photos as I was leaving. The firstphoto I shot is an old picture(with no exif, of coursehanging in the gloomy stairwayhighly above my eye level.

Canon S70; Aperture 5.3 (due to zoom!); Exposure T. 1/30; Iso200( most probably!!)

Thanks for expressing your observations, Chris.

You also say:

...And I can look at them for hours!! Don't you also think that a dedicated 'Now and Then' section would be great on this site? I'd love to see many examples from all over the world, which would drive me to some creative, pleasurable melancholy:-)

I've got to agree - I love looking at pictures like these, and I think a 'Then And Now' forum would be hugely popular.

Just a thought, Bahadir - I'd be really great if you could post a shot taken from the same angle as the old picture. Thanks for bringing up a really interesting subject, and I look forward to more! and double!

PS - You did a great job capturing that old photo. At first, I though it was a scan!

Toshi, thank soo much you for the great incentive you've allowed me
In fact, I also considered to shoot the school building from the same angle as with the old photo, but due to many big trees obstracting the edifice I was not able to accomplish the idea
