If it's Latin or derived Romance language Ne Te might mean "don't spin yourself" but don't know what SMAY is.

Looks like danger lurks around the corner-going by the shadow. Be a good pix in the Da Vinci File.

DigitalGal

Very artistic and tasteful. Creative use of angles

Did some search on the expression; seems it´s some kind of heraldic expression

ne=negation (probably)

te=you (probably)

smay, could be Smay (it´s all capitals)

Seems very reasonable to me.. looking to the design of mosaic.. a spining patern... I have tried to search google, but no results for smay.. or the phrase in total..

If you have to deal with italian, for example, 'ne' doesn't mean a negation at all.. right the opposite.. it was hardest thing for me to get used to ,her in Italy.. so, I think, it must be something else.. the idea about spining was reasonable..

perhaps a heraldic device for the Trivulzio family? (Milano)

What it means: no idea (smile)

But back to the photo: I like that you included your shoes in the frame. It adds context, perspective and a human touch to what would otherwise be a pretty cold and impersonal image.

(BTW, nice shoes.)
