Hi Guys,

They are redeveloping an old pub near where i live. While the works are being carried out artists have been commissioned to paint over the boarded up windows. This image i found particularly appealing.

Let me know what you think!

It's far-sighted for a city to get the jump on the graffiti "artists" by commissioning folk art themselves in places that would be perhaps defaced at least temporarily. Good job, both photographer and artist. Is the old pub going to be a new pub?

I agree, it really is pretty switched on. The town is Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. It has a great historical heritage with much of the town, including the pub being very old buildings subject to listed building and conservation status. As such the last thing the Council wanted was the 'tone' of the area being brought down with graffiti. The commissioned work seems a fair balance.

Btw, the pub is being redeveloped as a new pub!

Sounds like the renaissance tradition of comissioning artists for the decoration of a cathedral : )

I also find that image appealing Thanks for sharing!
