Thanks, Bahadir; did you notice the grey granite at the foundation features a glacis wall?

Matthew, every time I go to San Antonio, I find something new and interesting to photograph. Love that city.

You mean at the foundation of 'Old Red Museum'(??) Actually, I did not notice anything to do with defensive purpose! I'd be pleased ifyou elaborate : )Well, at least I know,heavily rusticated architecture in some Renaissance buildings were also meant for defence!!

The grey wall is sloped outward. In older castles, this was an earthen bank to make defense easier, and eventually, many were faced with stone for durability and maintainence. And later, they were often part of the supporting wall itself.

It appears that this feature is, like many others on Old Red, copied from castles actually used for defense.

Yes, good shot, in the event of thread flooding I will only respond to one thread

Great series Barbarian i had an uncle that lived in Fortworth and i went there in 1989, even went up that building that supposedly Oswald shot JFK, i also enjoyed going to the place where they filmed Dallas, again fantastic shots
