Default Bridge, Madison County, Iowa

Bridge near Winterset, Iowa. I'm still fiddling with HDR, trying to get it as realistic as I can. The sky was flat gray ugly, so I changed that a bit, otherwise, just a straight HDR.

Oh, those fantastic bridges with walls and roof. I learned the purpose from Bob Hammit. There is nothing like it over here.

As a county supervisor told it to me, Madison Count figured it would be cheaper replacing the light lumber of the roof than replacing the heavier timbers used for the bridge itself.

It's unique in Iowa, just this county. There are more of them in the East, I'm told.

Thank you for this follow up. Timber men. Carpenters. Makes sense. Must be fun to stand on the side and watch people passing by. Perhaps write down registration numbers in a note book
