Thanks. At least one of the houses was built in the second part of the 17th century. Pretty old. This city is a proletarian one, still with a great working class

That's very noticeable when you consider the type of humour that is typical of the city, joking with authorities and other depressing powers, politicians and company leaders

There is a lowdown to this though. It's not easy to stick up over the heads of others. "Do you want a medal for that" is a often heard comment. If there is someting special to what you do or say, you have to have a healthy self-distance in your attitude. Self-distance and humour are to me good things though

Gothenburg humour is often compared with Brittish humour. Monty Python's Flying Circus made an instant success over here. Seems to me that overseas (read American) humour has a lot of space for improvement. That's a good thing

The district depicted above is situated in the very core of the city
