Default Ancient Romen Villa, Near Michelstadt Germany

Here are some shots of an Ancient Romen Villa in Germany. As you can see they had floor heating and wall heating. As the floor is raise and the heat form the fire place would be funnel under the floor and up the walls chimney. This villa was built about 200AD. It was a pretty large house, base on the foundation. And they had indoor toilets, where a water would flow and move things into the leeching fields.

All taken with the epl-1 and kit lens

Pretty amazing engineering! I always enjoy visiting places like this when I'm out in a different area/country. Tends to humble one a little. Excellent series. Thanks for the tour.

I woos out on taking the bikes out, as it was way to hot, so we took the car. And pack the camera gear. So the wife and I decided to just explore a bit and look for new things to check out close to our home. Looks of things to see actually in Germany, and always finish off the day with a nice beer form the local brewery

Nice to see these picks. I was in Pompei some years ago and was surprised for the advanced technology. Hot water plumb pipes!

shoturtle,

Thanks for this tour, thorough, gründlich, sachlich, germanistic. Well, the empire fell when they started to build walls around themselves. That's just one of the reasons

Many empires fell during the last century. May I introduce a name: Professor Chalmers Johnson; on the subject of falling empires, republics.

They fall swiftly. Nemesis is standing in the shadows, waiting for those who engage in self deception and "hybris"
