Ward,

Horizon needs some leveling maybe the pic also needs a bit of sharpening and that should do it in my opinion.

I think the horizon is ok. Due to the curved bank on both the near and far side of the water, it gives the illusion of not being level. However, I loaded the image into Paint Shop Pro 7 and superimposed some straignt horizontal lines over the bridge structure on the left and the alignment was spot on.

I think it is an excellent photo. The exposure range between light and dark is outstanding. That is an extremely difficult shot to meter.

Cal - those were very kind words, and I thank you for that. One reason that the horizon may look deceivingly askew, in additon to those which you pointed out, is the fact that this was taken with a 17-40 wide angle. This new Canon lens is really crisp - at most f-stops, and at most zoom levels. I applied no USM or other sharpening to this image, but I probably should have done so. The light was quite low, and I shot wide open, with a relatively low shutter speed. I think that if you look at the nearby objects, and the objects in the distance, that there is an acceptable level of sharpeness across the entire range of the photo. Thanks again, Cal.
