Thanks lomitamike! We got very lucky. The forecast called for partly cloudy skies. It was actually cloudy all the way up to sunset. The sky cleared right behind the Statue of Liberty

On a scale of one to ten, I would have to give this one a twenty. Words are no good here. I'm not a big believer in luck, but I do believe in fate. You were meant to capture this image, and here you are!

I agree with Billy. It should be submitted, and it will give you a wider audience, as well.
The contrasting colors and the composition are excellent, and the flag flying in the lower right side of the frame is the 'frosting on the cake'
