Hello everybody

My next holiday is partly away from civilisation. I'm going to be dependent on charging the Minolta NP-800 lithium-ion-batteries (equivalent to Nikon EN-EL1) with the help of a car battery (12 Volts).

Are there any automatic chargers? If so, what kind of charger would you recommend? If not, how can I solve my problem?

Thanks a lot for every hint or advice!

I have a cheapie 110v power supply for my car. Everything plugged into it works as designed, including charging the battery on my razor. I don't see a reason why your battery charger wouldn't work.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I don't really understand what kind of gadget you mean. Is it a DC/AC-Converter? Does it transform 12 volts DC to 220 volts AC (Europe)?
Would it be small and inexpensive?

Yep, here we have various DC/AC convertors 12V DC to 120V AC (kinda), varying in power ratings. I haven't seen one for 220V though.

By the term "car battery", do you mean "the car is not included ?"

Look at your charger. Some accept DC input (luckily 12 V) as well as AC input. If you're lucky, all you need is a cable to run from your cigarette lighter to your charger.
