Can anyone tell me what kind of realistic battery life I can expect from the Canon SD300? I am also interested in the A95 and the Sony W1. However, I prefer the small size of the SD300 but want to know if the small battery will be a problem for a day or two of regular use, and for taking video.

they say ..roughly 140 pics with LCD on. May even be less if you take photos with the flash.

It all depends on how many pictures you are to take in a day.

One thing is sure tho, the A95 should last the longest and the SD300 the least. Here is an idea of the number of pictures you can take with each cameras(using CIPA standards), 140 with SD300, 340 with W1 and 400 with A95. With the later that means nearly 3 times more pictures per battery sets and with both the W1 and A95, you can always use Alkalines to finish your day.

But if size matters a lot, then perhaps A95 shouldn't be considered... And if 140 pics is not enough, go with W1. Either way, make sure to check http://www.pbase.com/camerasto have idea of what your camera will be able to do. And also, hold the camera before buying it, to make you are comfortable with it.
