I bought Energizer 30-Minute Battery Charger and 4 batteries (including in the package) for $56.00

Another store quoted me $45.00, anyway it's beside the point.

My question is for the first time using, should I charge it over 24hrs?

I am confused with the instruction.

Yes it is always recommended to charge for about 24hrs for the 1st charge(provided that this charger does trickle charge). Also, keep in mind that it will take about 5 cycles before the batteries reach their full potential. By full cycles, I do NOT mean discharged in a flashlight(this is something you should never do), I just mean that when they are dead in your camera, recharge them.

I've read too many negative stories about the Rayovac 1 hr. charger - so I bought the Energizer 30 minute charger a couple of months ago. Thus far, it's been perfect.
