Default How much time, digicam manufacturers produce any type of battery packs?

Hi friends!

I am going to buy a point and shot digicam but an old question annoy me a lot!!

I always think, for how much time, digicam manufacturers are responsible to produce older battery packs?

You know, every new digicams often use a different li-ion battery and I am afraid I cannot find its battery replacement later.

If you buy a quality camera, the batteries will be available for a long time. If you buy a cheap piece of garbage, the camera will fail long before the battery.

Buy a back up or two right away. If you care for the batteries properly, you'll likely replace the camera before you need to replace the batteries. Also as long as you buy a quality camera from one of the big boys (Canon, Sony, Nikon etc) your battery should be available for a couple of years. If not the same battery, then at least a higher capacity equivalent.
