Default Minolta DiMage 7

I have a DiMage 7. I originally bought a Quest charger and batteries. I went through two of them since owning my camera. I currently only use my camera plugged in. I would like some batteries that will give me a lot of use time and I like to use the screen not the viewfinder. This camera runs on 4 AA's in case you aren't familiar with it. If anyone could help me in my search for GREAT batteries I would appreciate it tremendously.

I have a 7hi, and even though I use it with the VF only and have it set to turn on with eye sensing, it goes through batteries quite quickly. I have had good results from Duracell 2500mAH NiMH cells. I usually carry at least one spare set with me, and often two sets.
For extended use with the LCD, I do have an external battery - a 6V sealed lead-acid battery which was a replacement for a UPS. I carry it in a Walkman bag that has room for the cable and a shoulder strap. Heavy, though.
