I have an oly c770 camera.
Last year I went to the Carribians and my LI ION battery charger failed.I could not find another. Luckily a friend had an oly camera and charged my batteries too. Itried to make a makeshift power pack, by connectingfour 1.2V NimH AA batteries in series, (summing up 4.8V) to the camera's external power jack marked 4.8 V, making sure that the polarity is right. To my surprise, the camera did not function without the internal battery. It did function only if the internal battery was in and okay, .and stoppedas it got discharged. My conclusion is that the powerpack was useless, although it did supply almost 5.2 V at no load and with the right polarity.I also heared that the original AC power supply delivers a higher voltage than 4.8. Isn't it strange? Did someone experience a simmilar problem and succeeded? |
