Hello, in search for rechargable batteries for my upcoming camera Canon IS S2 I found in some energy shop Panasonic AA bateries with 3000 mAh, and Sony with 3800 (!) mAh.
I`m writting from Bosnia, and at our country ther`s not much quality stuff, and I couldnt find anything about the batteries on the net. Some home forums, told me to stay out of the "so called 3xxx" batteries, that they are junk in "marked wrapping" especialy 3800 wich, as most of people say dont exist in AA format.
Also, the energy shop seems legit, and has good recomendations, but still I`m full of doubt.
So my question is did you stumble on theese batteries? Do they even exist? Experience?:?

I remember seeing a forum thread a while back about similar batteries. In that case, they appeared to be counterfeit.

Highest capacity I've seen so far is 2600 mAH. One company is projecting that the 3000 mAH or more will be commmercially available by next year.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"3000 and above is available but the cell is longer (4/3 AA) and is common in size C and D.

Definitely fakes. The 2 big names Sanyo (who I believe make nimh AAs for Sony) and Energizer have no greater capacity at present than 2500mah.

GoldPeak have some that are 2500mAh (minimum), 2600mAh (typical) and are labelled "2700"!
