I am very new to this and know nothing about how long I should charge my batteries for, I would really appreciate it if someone could help.

I am using Energizer NiMH 2500 mAh batteries, and a Energizer NiMH/NiCd compact charger.

How long should the first charge be? And how long should I charge them for after that?

Thank you very much.

Most chargers will shut off automatically and have indicator lights to tell you so.

However, without knowing the charging current it is impossible to give you any idea how long a charge will take.

The charging current is from 170mH-190mH.
Does the first charge have to be longer than usual?

Thanks for replying.

Surely the instructions that came with the charger must be followed.

Yes, that would seem like the sensible thing to do, but I am overseas and silly me forgot to bring the intructions. But it does not state how long the first charge should be, as I can remember from the last time I read it.

Gosh, that is a long time. But thanks for helping out.

What about the first charge? Should it be the same?

Yes , 15h +4h =19h for charging batt. AA 2500mah with energizer compact charger CHM4AA . It is not only for the first butalso for every time .

You can buy smart charger and charging time will be shorter . I use smart charger Maxell MC-4FMHA . Charging time for batt. 2500 mah is 5h ( normal charging current 565ma ) or 125 min ( quick charging current 1275 ma ) .
