My 18 month old SD 20 has suddenly started giving me low battery messages on a freshly charged battery. I even bought a new one and get the same results. I remove the battery after getting the message and measure 4.1 volts. I checked the old batteries on a West Mountain Radio battery checker and they discharge at .5 amps for several minutes. Seems like the camera is sending an erroneous error message:roll:

I've tried contacting Canon and found the web site INCREDIBLY slow. I was hoping there might be a download to fix this problem. Any suggestions.

I get to answer my own question. After I finally got through to Canon's support site, their response was lightning fast. They suggested removng the battery for 20 minutes, then putting it back in and resetting the camera's defaults. This didn't fix the problem, so they offered me a refurbished camera in trade for mine. It is $175 plus shipping and comes with a 6 month warranty. I like this camera so much that I took them up on the offer. It should be here via FedEx by next Monday.
