Default Leave battery in charger?

I'm new to digital - using a Nikon Coolpix 4300 with a En-EL1 battery and a Nikon MH-53 charger & lost the instructions for the charger. Is it safe to leave the battrery in the charger for couple (say, 2) of hours , or unplug it sooner? Thiis is a basic question, but, hey, I'm a slow learner. Appreciate your kindness -

Yes it is - Nikons chargers are driven by a microprocessor, which powers off automatic, when charging is over. Is safe!
