I have a cheap sony charger, it came with 4 2100 NIMH rechargable batteries.

The booklet says it will charge 2100nimh batteries in aprox. 7 hours, but

800 or 900nimhs batteries too in 7 hours.

the output says: 360MA

which is 360 * 7 = 2520 <-- is this overcharging for batteries smaller than 2500nimh?

Oh it timer turns off after 7 hours

thanks

These 7 hours are most probably for AAA NiMH cells. The charging current for AAA cells is perhaps lower. This is just a guess. However, if you insert partially discharged cellor one with lower capacity, an overcharge will occur. I'd recommend you to get a better charger
