Default Whither 8.4 volts?

Although the battery in the Nikon 5700 is 6 volts, the 110volt pwer supply puts out 8.4 volts.

I am not sure why.

However, I would like to find an external battery pack that offers 8.w volts. I COULD build one oout of NIMHs, but that is an odd numbe rof batteries ... 7 and would be clumsy!

Any suggestions?Although the battery in the Nikon 5700 is 6 volts, the 110 volt power supply puts out 8.4 volts.

Default Power Pack for Nikon 5700

I posted this before in the thread about Whither 8.4 volts?

Why does the voltage input on the Cpix 5700 require 8.4 volts while the battery pack only delivers 6 volts?

I would like to be able to use 6 volt battery packs as an external power supply!
