I guess the initial charge takes longer? I thought I read where the battery normally takes about 90 mins to charge, but this green light is still on 4 hours later.

Doesn't green mean the battery has been fully charged on the Canon charger? Red means it is charging...

Correct. For thekit XTi charger, the recharge LED changes from orange to greenwhen the battery ischarged.

It's also stated cleaarly and bulleted with a triangle on the bottom of page 24 in the XTi manual ... best advice in photographyfor anew camera owner: read the manual!
