I've been reading this forum for a while (so glad something like this exists) and finally decide to jump in with a question regarding my camcorder. I have an old Sony camcorder that uses an NP-98 NiCd battery. The NP-98 is rated at 3000mah. It is discontinued by Sony, but I did find one I could purchase on the Internet. In the meantime, other manufacturers have filled the void by making replacements including some that are NiMH and rated higher. For example, Power2000 makes a NiMH replacement for the NP-98 that is rated at 6000mah and Lenmar makes one rated at 3800 (or 4200) mah. Prices are around $30 to $40. So, the question is –
Should I stick with the old tried and true and purchase the Sony NP-98 on the Internet or move to some of the newer ones made by other battery companies?
Thanks very much.
