Default Battery storage question...

I've got a Digipower DSP-8000 NiMH rechargable battery for my digital camera. My question: When the camera is not in use for days, weeks, or months, should the battery be discharged to preserve its longevity? And is there any problem associated with leaving a battery fully charged for an extended period? In other words, how much does time (inactivity) play a role in how this type of battery should be stored? Appreciate any comments... also anything else to help extend the life of my battery pack.

Thanks in advance,
TL

it will self discharge over about 30+ days on its own. just charge it up the day before you need it.
